Description
Designers of air handling systems are increasingly basing their thermal and acoustical insulation decisions on their potential impact on indoor air quality. Recent advances in insulation technology, specifically the development of flexible closed-cell foam insulation materials capable of providing both thermal and acoustical insulation performance provide designers with indoor air quality friendly options. This paper provides an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of the selection of various duct lining and duct wrap materials and the trade-offs between lined duct versus wrapped duct to provide thermal and acoustical performance.
