Description

Notes that R134a is being introduced into the air conditioning and refrigeration industry as the preferred, environmentally safer alternative to R12. Polyalkylene glycols (PAGS), modified polyalkylene glycols and esters are the primary lubricants that are now being tested for use with R134a. States there is a need for data on the solubility and miscibility of R134a with these new lubricants. Presents such data for some PAGs and analyses them using the Flory-Huggins theory.
