Description
Presents early results from a study to characterise the steam production and chilled-water use at a large university in central Texas. In this study, daily trend data from power plant logbooks are being studied to establish base-load conditions for evaluating the before/after effect of planned energy conservation retrofits. The experience gained from this study also shows that such a procedure presents an excellent opportunity for evaluating the useful information available in the daily logbook readings taken manually by power plant personnel. Such information has already provided helpful insight into the evaluation of day-to-day plant operations. The trend data will also be utilised in the planning of an electronic trend data base for a control and monitoring system that will provide enhanced operational reports.
