Description
The refrigerant R245fa is a substitute for CFC-11 in the field of air conditioning, especially in low pressure water chillers typically used in large building air conditioning. As a partially halogenated hydrocarbon with relatively low boiling point it is also suggested as an insulating gas for foams. Wide use of this refrigerant, however, is restrained with lack of consistent data on thermophysical properties.
This project analyzes thermophysical data for R245fa available from different sources and points out inconsistencies and deficiencies in the available data. The project also involves additional experimental research which provides more accurate data on R245fa properties.
