Description

Notes that people are rarely exposed to a constant environment. Even a carefully controlled indoor climate has some temperature fluctuations. Presents a computer model for estimating thermal comfort under non-steady-state thermal conditions. The model is called ETC (Estimating thermal Transient Comfort). It can simulate various non-steady-state conditions and can calculate the mean skin temperature, segment skin temperature, heat losses by radiation, respiration, convection and evaporation plus heat storage in the body. Provides a new method for predicting thermal transient comfort.
