Description
States that in the study of moisture transfer between the building envelope and the conditioned space air the influence of transient heat and moisture transfer between the building envelope and the space air during the cool-down, conditioning and off-period must be considered. Notes that the results of site surveys have verified a considerable amount of space latent cooling load induced by the moisture transfer from the building envelope to the space air during the cool-down period. Discusses moisture migration within solids and proposes a physical model to describe the moisture transfer and a mathematical model to evaluate int. Also investigates the empirical formulas and the dimensionless correlations that determine the convective heat transfer coefficient during forced convection and free convection. Also presents the principle and a method of evaluating various parameters in the convective mass transfer. Concludes by proposing a mathematical model of a simultaneous heat and moisture transfer relationship and suggests a method of solving problems in this field.
