Description
The thermal conductivity of lithium bromide-water solutions was measured over the temperature range 20°C to 190°C using a modified hot wire technique. Solutions containing 30.2, 44.3, 49.1, 56.3, 60.0, 62.9, and 64.9 wt% lithium bromide were studied and comparisons were made with reported data on aqueous lithium bromide solutions at lower temperatures. The data were correlated as a function of temperature and weight percent lithium bromide with an average deviation of 0.6%. The accuracy of the measurements was estimated to be plus or minus 2%. Subsequent papers in this series will report data on the density, viscosity, heat capacity, and vapour pressure of these mixtures.
