Environmental control system (ECS) is a generic term used inthe aircraft industry for the systems and equipment associated withventilation, heating, cooling, humidity/contamination control, andpressurization in the occupied compartments, cargo compartments, and electronicequipment bays. The term ECS often encompasses other functions such aswindshield defog, airfoil anti-ice, oxygen systems, and other pneumaticdemands.
