Description
History chronicles many examples of disasters resulting from undersizing of, or ignorance about, critical project components. Mankind has thus learned the value of adding safety factors to most of our design parameters. The wealth of data available today negates much of the ignorance factor concerning HVAC system design; however, accrued safety factors and other human errors often prove hazardous to effective pumping system design. This paper examines the influences of these factors, from estimating, manufacturing, site, and other processes, on pump sizing errors and details the resulting symptoms and site corrections.
