Description
The object of this paper is to study and understand the dynamics of this combination of components in preparation for an on-site evaluation of the Bridgers and Paxton Solar Building in Albuquerque, New Mexico, an evaluation made possible through a grant awarded to The Pennsylvania State University by the National Science Foundation. This solar building is shown in Fig. 1. The solar collector will be reactivated and precise instrumentation installed so that accurate performance data will be gathered during the winter heating season beginning October 1, 1974. The results of this study will be correlated with actual performance data from the Albuquerque building. The objective of the overall program is to develop comprehensive information for consulting engineers to use as criteria for the design of similar solar energy assisted systems in any geographical area in the United States.
