Description
This paper evaluates the cooling performance of apersonalized partition air supply system, a ceiling air supplysystem, and an underfloor air supply system using resultsobtained from full-scale chamber experiments and computationalfluid dynamics simulations. The experimental and thesimulation results indicate that the partition supply systemprovides better indoor thermal comfort levels than the ceilingsupply system and the underfloor supply system. The partitionsupply system can reach the desired thermal comfort levelsaround the occupant faster than the other two systems. It canalso reduce the cold draft affecting the occupant by adjustingthe operable outlet grilles on the partition. The simulationresults agree with the testing data for similar airflow andtemperature distributions.
