Description

This final report for the ASHRAE Research Project 822-RP sponsored by the TC 4.1 (Load Calculation Data and Procedures) consists of an assemblage of several distinct but related parts. Part-1 presents a brief review of relevant literature and describes the experimental test facility, measurement equipment and test procedures. It also includes an extensive discussion and presentation of the test results for various equipment tested which represent the main bulk of the experimental work. Conclusions and recommendations of this research project are also presented in Part-1. Part-2 consists of several appendixes. Comparison of theoretical and experimentally measured radiant heat flux are presented in Appendix I. Detailed discussions on the calibration of the radiometer are presented in Appendix H Derivation of equations used in radiant heat loss measurements are presented in Appendix HI. Appendix IV presents the effect of the radiometer scan rate on the radiant heat flux measurements. A comparison of the scanning radiometer method and the infrared imaging method is presented in Appendix V.
