Description

A simulation model of a gas-fired, bivalent parallel air-to-water absorption heat pump with LiBr/ZnBr2/CH30H and a “condensing” boiler for domestic heating is presented. Because of the low pressure of the mixture, all components are constructed as horizontal tube bundles over which liquid flows in falling films. The only exception for the mixture heat exchanger, which is plate type. Under optimal conditions, the heat pump of specified dimensions has a seasonal average COP of 1.2 to 1.5, corresponding to energy savings of 24% to 36%.
