Description

Chilled water can be produced either by a storage-priority or a chiller-priority system. Both systems have partial storage to optimise plant capacity and minimise capital costs. But the operating strategies for both systems differ – the parameters controlling the production and utilisation of chilled water are functions of the intended strategy for production and use of chilled water. Load control optimises the plant’s electrical power use by using the load profile produced from simulation results. It is possible to use a predictable control strategy that minimises the cooling plant load.
