Description

Part 1 of this paper presented the development of a transfer function scheme for incorporating combined heat and mass transfer with vapor adsorption into building energy analysis calculations. The new transfer functions are called moisture transfer functions (MTFs). In this paper, part 2, the objective is to demonstrate the use of the MTF model in an existing integrated hourly energy analysis building simulation program. The model is fundamental in nature, having physical material properties as parameters, and is capable of analyzing moisture effects in an entire building in a reasonable amount of time.
