Description

In this paper, the air rejected from air-conditioning (AC) systems is used to decrease the surface temperature of Photo Voltaic (PV) panels in order to increase their efficiency. Further, the suggested design allows the energy carried by the hot air leaving the PV modules to be recovered and used in thermal applications. Numerical predictions demonstrate that the increase in the electric efficiency of the PV modules varies bewteen 5 and 50 % relative to the case when no cooling is applied. Moreover, an energetic analysis of the recovered thermal energy show that the thermal efficiency reaches very high values ranging from 98 to 45 %.
